Education and youth are two of the most valuable resources of any community. The Beaufort County School District has 17 elementary schools, 5 middle schools, and 4 high schools. Three private academies also educate children from grades 1 through 12. Additional educational opportunities are available at the University of South Carolina Beaufort and the Technical College of the Lowcountry.
